| The world is a much smaller one since the advent
of modern jet travel. The world airlines are helping to
bridge the time zones to allow us more freedom and worldly
access than ever before in the history of mankind. The
airline industry is not very old and from the early flights, we
as humans have been fascinated by air travel. There are many
new brands of airline companies and many of the old standards
are now gone. The days of flying Pan Am, Eastern, Western
and a host of other airlines are over, but, the new ones are
here. The modern age has seen the likes of Southwest,
Jetblue and others come out of nowhere and build a solid base of
customers. One of the best new airlines, in my opinion, is
Virgin America. They have lots of new airplanes, people
and staff. When you fly with Virgin America you pay for
what you want extra and if you do not want a movie or meal,
well, you saved some money.
Today you can take a flight from Houston or any Midwestern
city and be in Europe in 7 to 9 hours, Asia in 13 to 16 hours
and South America in less. You can fly from LAX and the
west coast to Australia in 15 hours, although you will loose a
day during the trip. The planes have changed from the old
prop and prop-jets to the modern 747's, 777's and the new A-380
Airbus. The planes are safer today than they have ever
been and flying is still fun and easy, once you get past
security.
I am listing the airlines that I have been on and personally
like how they treat me and how easy they are to book, either
online or on the phone. I have not been on every airline
in the world and I probably never will fly them all, but, I have
been on quite a few. If you have any recommendations, drop
